GP Connect! to participate at the Global Peace Convention in Korea
The GP Connect! team will attend and facilitate a session at the Global Peace Convention in Seoul, Korea, November 28-30. This Convention aims to bring new focus to significant issues related to the reunification of the Korean peninsula. The Convention will explore Global Peace Festival Foundation’s (GPFF) value-based approach to peace building and development, and its potential as a starting point for the pursuit of common interests for the two Koreas.
This convention will provide an important forum for social entrepreneurs and peace-builders from around the world to consider cutting-edge strategies and best practices in the context of the vital Northeast Asia region, with special focus on the Korean peninsula. Last year, GP Connect! successfully ran three different sessions and we are hopeful that this year will be even more interesting.
GP Connect! has organized and will moderate a session under the title “Empowering Citizens in Community Driven Projects.” This will take place on November 29, at the JW Marriot Hotel. The GP Connect! social media team will provide a live broadcast. GP Connect! will also be one of the organizations that will be spearheading the social media activities for online and follow up discussions at the convention. We welcome the engagement of the online community who are keen on the various exciting and hot ideas that will be emerging from this effort.
GP Connect! took an active role last year during the same Convention which took place in Kenya, Nairobi. Launched in 2007, the Global Peace Festival (GPF) has brought together more than a million peace-minded people in nations on every continent. An innovative approach to peace building, the GPF combines multi-cultural celebrations with service initiatives that engage volunteers from every background, drawing upon the shared ideals of the world’s faiths and united by a vision of One Family under God.
